Name: Echo
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Species: Grovyle
Side: Native
Appearance: Echo looks mostly like a normal Grovyle: green scales, red belly, leaves on her wrists. She also bears the large, grass-strand off her head and two leaf-tails. However, her scales have a sort of black shimmer in the sunlight, and she also wears two brown bracelets on each wrist, and a beaded brown necklace with a red gem of sorts as a pendant. She wears black shorts with a golden hem that reach about mid-thigh and a black tank top that cuts off above her bellybutton. Her sandals, too, are black. She is a bit taller than most Grovyle, standing at about 3’2”.
Personality: Echo is usually pretty friendly to others, unless something about them rubs her the wrong way. She is a loyal friend to those who she likes, but if someone gets on her bad side, she’ll be as cold and heartless as she can possibly be. She never walks away from a friend in trouble, and she’ll fight to the bitter end for those who she loves. She was once heard saying, “I’m not afraid to die, but I’m not afraid to live, either.” She can be a bit moody, but she would never betray those who she holds dear. She almost always tries to do her best at something.
History: Born to a fairly old couple, Echo was an explorer right from the start. She’d often climb around the house onto high ledges and into all sorts of nooks and crannies. In fact, her parents had to hide all their possibly-poisonous items in a small safe to keep their daughter from poisoning herself.
Not too long after she learned to walk, Echo discovered the great outdoors. She would often go outside into her family’s backyard and climb the trees, pretending she was on some great adventure, but she somehow managed her never fall out of the tree she was in.
Her life was simple, but good. Her mother and father were hard workers, and they did bring in quite a bit of money. Besides that, Echo was never alone. She had babysitters she could play with, and the babysitters were, in turn, happy to play with her, knowing that they would get a good sum of money as well as the rewarding feeling of doing something helpful.
Once Echo was old enough to stay home alone without a babysitter, her parents went out much more often. Echo thought nothing of it; to her it was more free time. She didn’t realize that her parents were avoiding her, feeling guilty, only having a few years left to live.
A few days after her 17th birthday, Echo’s father died, leaving only her and her mother. Echo was crestfallen; her father was not just a parent, but he was also her best friend. Her mother tried desperately to comfort her, but Echo ignored her, grieving for her father.
Echo’s mother passed away as well, this time shortly after her daughter’s 18th birthday passed. Echo fell into a deep sorrow, not only for the loss, but also for ignoring her mother. Several months of grieving later, Echo had moved into Ariados Apartments, and was now completely independent. However, she also realized that she had to move on.
So she did, and now she is back to her normal, friendly self. That’s not to say she’s gotten over it… she’s just gotten used to life without her beloved parents.
